Volunteers are always needed, and there are a ton of ways to get involved. 

• Help shop!

  • While we appreciate donations, we also understand that not everyone can afford to stock the pantry. We also rely highly on shoppers that will do a store run for reimbursement (Costco, Sams Club, etc.)

• Unboxers!

  • Another option is shipping goods to your own house & unboxing and brining to the pantry.​

• Open Hours!

  • We ALWAYS need help during pantry hours Tuesday's from 4-6, and Fridays between 10 AM and 1 PM. 

• Farmers Market Volunteers!

  • During the summer months we have a donation table set up at the Shelter Island Farmers Market (Saturday Mornings).​

When can you accept donations of food?

Ideally during pantry hours on Tuesday and Friday, if you have a large donation please email hello@shelterislandfoodpantryl.com to make arrangements & we will be happy to coordinate a time for you to drop it off!

 

How can I donate to help the running of the pantry?

We are now accepting online donations! If you would prefer to donate via check, please make out checks to: Shelter Island Food Pantry Inc.

We always could use an extra set of hands! But they are especially valuable during the holidays and summer.
