Tax-Exempt Status
Shelter Island Food Pantry is a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, committed to providing nutritious food to individuals and families in need across Shelter Island. Contributions to our organization are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
IRS Filing and Public Disclosure
As a tax-exempt organization, we are required to make our IRS documents available to the public. The following documents are available for review:

Donations and Acknowledgment
We greatly appreciate your support. If you make a donation of $250 or more, we will send you a written acknowledgment for your records. This acknowledgment will include:
- 
The amount of the donation (cash) 
- 
A description (but not the value) of any noncash donations 
- 
A statement indicating whether any goods or services were provided in exchange for the donation 
For any donations less than $250, a written acknowledgment is not required but is still available upon request.
Quid Pro Quo Contributions
If you donate $75 or more and receive goods or services in return, we will provide you with a disclosure statement. The statement will:

Inform you that your donation is deductible only to the extent that it exceeds the value of any goods or services you receive 
- 
Provide a good-faith estimate of the value of those goods or services

Shelter Island Food Pantry is registered to solicit charitable donations in New York State, in compliance with the state's Charitable Solicitations Act. As required by New York State law, we provide the following disclosure:
